How can I whittle it down to just 3 top places to visit in Milan?! There are so many spectacular things to see, but these are my favourite 3 places that I visited whilst staying in Milan for a long weekend. The gothic architecture in this city is truly breathtaking. Even shops and restaurants exuded elegant and delicate features.
Visit Duomo di Milano

Climbing the Duomo di Milano, also known as Milan Cathedral, was certainly a highlight!
This magnificent church certainly flaunts stunning gothic features, from impressive spires on the rooftop to the intricate gargoyles and statues.
Outside the front, can see selfie-taking tourists, professional photographers, street performers, painters – even wedding photos being taken! This site is truly a hub of entertainment and of sheer significance for the city of Milan. On a cool, Autumn Saturday in October, Duomo was still bustling with energy and excitement. It’s no surprise that it’s one of my top 3 places to visit in Milan!

Visit Cimitero Monumentale di Milano

The Cimitero Monumentale was the first place I wanted to visit in Milan! It’s where the most renowned and respected citizens are laid to rest in artistic tombs and monuments. Completed in 1866, the cemetery really is a monumental sight to behold and a must see when visiting Milan.
The main entrance is through a huge Hall of Fame-style building made of marble and stone, containing the remains of the city’s highly-honoured citizens.
A peaceful walk past the hauntingly beautiful tombs and through the gardens makes for a calming cultural escape from the busy city centre.

Visit Lago di Como

Lago Di Como (Lake Como) is a beautiful place with dramatic scenery set against the alps. The lake has a beautifully characteristic ‘Y’ shape and its own micro-climate due to the alpine location. Also, along its shores, you can spot prestigious celebrity villas!
Lake Como contains spectacular architecture, cobble stone streets and unique town squares, with bustling colourful cafes. And above all, the people are extremely welcoming and friendly, which is another great reason to visit!
Read my post about Lake Como and watch my video highlighting the trip to the top of the mountain! Also, check out the many stunning tours from Milan to Lake Como here.
